The Madeline Island Wilderness Preserve (MIWP) is a non-profit land trust dedicated to the protection and preservation of natural areas on Madeline Island for everyone's enjoyment. Our major areas of focus are: —Protection of the scenic and natural qualities of Madeline Island by acquiring land through donation, bequest, or direct purchase, and by holding conservation easements. —Maintenance, improvement, and expansion of MIWP trails for the public's enjoyment . —Education on natural history with outreach to our members and to others who reside on or visit the island. —Control of the spread of invasive species across the island.
